I used to think that self-love was selfish. I mean, isn't the point of life to put others first? To be there for your family and friends, to be a good employee, citizen, etc.? I realized that I had been brainwashed into thinking that self-care was a luxury; something that I could only afford after taking care of everyone else. But the reality is that self-care is essential to our wellbeing. It's not selfish to prioritize our own needs; it's actually one of the most important things we can do. When we take care of ourselves, we're better able to take care of others. We're more patient, more present, and more loving. Self-care is an act of radical love. And when we love ourselves fiercely, everything changes. We become more mindful eaters, move our bodies with joy instead of forcing ourselves to exercise, and develop a healthier relationship with our bodies. We also begin to attract more loving relationships into our lives. And as we heal our own wounds, we become better equipped to support others in their healing journey. Self-love is the foundation of a happy, healthy life. It's time to prioritize our own wellbeing and create a world based on love instead of hate.
