1. What is your name? What is the name of your business?

My name is Shannon Baltazar. My business is Baltazar Hair Company and we are located at 1 Springfield Street in Wilbraham, MA.

2. What inspired you/encouraged you to start your business?

What inspired me to start my own business was being in the industry for so many years I felt I could Improve on industry standards. I could take from my experience and make a positive space for myself, my clients and my employees. It was so important to me to deliver to my community quality hair services, an inviting place for the community to gather, and a place my employees feel appreciated and valued.

3. What do you love about your work?

What I love about my work is interacting with my clients, getting to know them and their family’s. Being apart of their lives and making them feel beautiful. We get to be apart of people's wedding day, their graduations, all the milestones of life, as well as being a part of the days they just need a pick me up to feel beautiful.

4. What advice do you have for others wanting to start a business?

Advice I have for someone wanting to start a new buisness is “just go for it!” If there is something you are passionate about and you give it your all, you will succeed. Take the leap!

5. What do you do to take care of yourself and how do you make time to do it?

To take care of myself, I sneak out of my work day and get a pedicure, or a facial, or buy a pair of shoes. Just something to indulge myself, life gets so busy, so I make sure to schedule time to take care of me.

7. Favorite spot to go around town?

My kids love Rice Fruit Farm for breakfast or ice cream in the summer. Interskate91 for some roller skating. Also, the Village Store & Cafe for hot chocolate and soup.
